The Camden County Department of Health announced 18 additional positive cases of COVID-19 identified in Camden County. Trace investigations are being facilitated with the patients and remain ongoing.
“Today, we saw another 43 percent increase in cases in the county, which says two things to me: first, that testing is more widespread in the county and second, that we need to continue to isolate and aggressively socially distance to break the back of this virus,” said Freeholder Director Louis Cappelli, Jr. “We need to be vigilant and I cannot underscore enough the need for residents to stay home. I said it yesterday, and I will say it again, make no mistake, this will become a lifesaving operation in the future until we get an effective medicine or vaccine to treat COVID-19.”
The following information is currently available regarding new patients:
• The first patient is a male in his 60s from Cherry Hill.
• The second patient is a female in her 50s from Collingswood.
• The third patient is a male in his 20s from Voorhees.
• The fourth patient is a male in his 20s from Haddonfield.
• The fifth patient is a male in his 40s from Cherry Hill.
• The sixth patient is a male in his 60s from Winslow.
• The seventh patient is a male in his 30s from Pine Hill.
• The eighth patient is a female in her 60s from Lindenwold.
• The ninth patient is a female in her 50s from Gloucester Township.
• The 10th patient is a female in her 30s from Magnolia.
• The 11th patient is a male in his 50s from Winslow.
• The 12th patient is a male in his 40s from Somerdale.
• The 13th patient is a female in her 20s from Collingswood.
• The 14th patient is a female in her 30s from Gloucester City.
• The 15th patient is a female in her 40s from Gloucester Township.
• The 16th patient is a female in her 80s from Bellmawr.
• The 17th patient is a female in her 60s from Camden.
• The 18th patient is a female in her 50s from Winslow.
This brings the aggregate number of confirmed positive cases to 59 in Camden County, with one total fatality.
The county Health Department is currently working with the NJDOH to trace close contacts of these newest cases. The investigations are still ongoing, and we will update the public with new developments as the information is gathered by our investigators.
