Washington Township and Williamstown High Schools teamed up to sell thousands of hoagies on Super Bowl Sunday — Feb. 2 — for their annual Helping Hands Hoagie Sale.
The annual fundraiser pulls the two rival schools together to raise money for local families facing medical issues. Williamstown’s portion of the fundraiser was largely led by the Monroe Lead the Way foundation, with Washington Township’s teachers’ union handling all of their sales and additional ones from Williamstown.
Volunteers at both schools staged themselves at over 20 intersections throughout Washington and Monroe townships to entice drivers to purchase a hoagie, all in hopes of exceeding last year’s total.
