Fellowship Community Church, located at 1520 Hainesport Road in Mt. Laurel, invites the community at large to experience its Mount Laurel Living Nativity on Saturday and Sunday nights for three consecutive weeks: Dec. 7, 8, 14, 15, 21 and 22 from 5 to 8 p.m.
The Mount Laurel Living Nativity is a completely free gift to the community that has run for more than 25 years. The live production features 13 walk-through indoor and outdoor actor-enacted scenes which portray the story of Jesus from Genesis through the resurrection. An estimated 200 church members and other volunteers manage each night’s performance which have been seen by more than 12,000 people annually.
“The Living Nativity is a truly special experience which we lovingly create to help put the holy back into the holiday,” said Tim Hunt, living nativity director and children’s pastor at
Fellowship Community Church. “We invite everyone to come out and possibly make this event an annual December tradition.”
What to expect: Upon arrival, visitors will enter the church to be given a number. While waiting in the sanctuary, visitors will enjoy live entertainment until their group is called. It takes about 45 minutes to walk through all the scenes which include elaborate costuming and music. The tour concludes in the gym where homemade cookies and hot chocolate are served. The event is family friendly and enjoyed by people of all ages. Those who are unable to walk through the living nativity can be taken through on golf carts.
Visitors are encouraged to check the website, livingnativity.org, for more details about the
