Superintendent bids farewell to district

The following letter was provided to The Sun regarding Robbin's resignation as superintendent.

The following is a letter Tabernacle Township School District Superintendent Glenn Robbins penned to families and staff in the district.

As many of you may have already heard, on Nov. 21, I accepted the position to become the next Superintendent in Brigantine. I have submitted my resignation paper and will be moving forward in a few months. Until then, I plan to continue forward serving as your leader.

When I came to the Tabernacle School District in 2016, it was clear that we were set up for greatness. The teachers and educational staff in our schools are among the finest in the field. The parents and grandparents care and engage on a regular basis. The community takes pride in educational excellence, and the Board of Education has been ready for action.

Our success over the past several years is due to a great deal of collaboration and hard work. The students, teachers and staff embraced change. Our work has led to improvements at both schools. We focused on empathy, design thinking, social emotional learning, personalized learning and innovative lessons. We utilized student and staff voice in the redesigning of classrooms, outside learning environments, the district mission statement, the “Tabernacle Way,” gymnasium surfaces, the DEN, going 1-to-1 with technology at TES, mindfulness activities, several security upgrades, the TES Collaboratory and much more. Our students and staff also gained state and national recognition through visits from various officials and districts, our professional development opportunities and students presenting their greatness at various conferences.

We are also grateful to the generous support of the HSA, Education Foundation of Tabernacle Township, and Municipal Alliance who make so much possible.

Together, we consistently strived to reach our mission of being empathetic, innovative, game changers and success has become a norm in the Tabernacle School District. I am proud to have served you and appreciate the support and involvement you have shown over the years.

I am confident that the staff will continue to engage, inspire and empower the Tabernacle School District. As a district family member with relatives in TES, I look forward to the Tabernacle School District’s continued success.

With regards, best wishes and here is to a great Thanksgiving ahead.

Glenn Robbins
