GTPD responds to shooting earlier this week

The Gloucester Township Police Department responded to reports of shots fired on Yorkshire Road in Gloucester Township this past Wednesday

The following is a release by the Gloucester Township Police Department:

Acting Camden County Prosecutor Jill S. Mayer and Gloucester Township Police Chief Harry Earle reported a homicide that occurred in the Sicklerville area of Gloucester Township Wednesday, Oct. 23.

The Gloucester Township Police Department responded to reports of shots fired on Yorkshire Road in Gloucester Township at approximately 9:50 p.m. Officers located the victim, Kevin Carter, 26, of Gloucester Township, on the ground suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

Carter was pronounced deceased at the scene at approximately 10:20 p.m.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing, and there is no further information being released at this time. No arrests have been made at this time.
