Homeward Bound receives 100 donated dog beds

Through a grant from Bubba’s Bed for Shelter Friends, 100 dogs currently awaiting adoption will have a better place to sleep at the Homeward Bound Pet Adoption Center.

One hundred Kuranda beds were donated to the shelter, which is the largest donation of its kind made by Bubba’s Bed since its inception in 2017. The donation comes just before winter season to ensure the dogs have a dry, safe place to rest that is off the cement floor.

“We are extremely grateful for Bubba’s Beds’ generosity as we transition into winter months and colder weather,” said Freeholder Jonathan Young, liaison to the Homeward Bound Pet Adoption Center. “None of us would let our pets spend the night on a concrete floor, and the pets in our care at Homeward Bound are cared for the same way. These beds will help keep our dogs warm and dry as they wait to find their new forever home.”

Formerly Camden County Animal Shelter, Homeward Bound Pet Adoption Center is the largest open admission shelter in the region, serving more than 5,000 abused, homeless and neglected animals annually. It offers low cost vaccinations for owned pets, spay/neuter surgeries for community cats, and work with local county officials to ensure the health and safety of homeless and feral companion animals.
