Harry J. Wilkins died on Oct. 10 at the age of 83. Harry was born in Lenola and lived in Moorestown for most of his life. He was a resident of Mt. Laurel for the last twenty years. Harry was a graduate of the Philadelphia Museum College of Art (1960). He served in the Army National Guard from 1960 to 1969.Â
Harry began his career as assistant art director for the American Baptist Convention (1961-1964). He became art director for the Philadelphia Inquirer in 1964, then moved on to become senior art director at Sonder Levitt Advertising Company from 1969 to 1989. While in this position, Harry received numerous awards for his artwork and worked on high profile accounts including the Philadelphia 76ers, Wendy’s, Channel 17 TV and the Philadelphia Lottery.Â
Harry concluded his career at Creative Images, where he eventually retired. He is survived by his son, Jeffrey J. Wilkins; his daughter, Jennifer Wilkins Davidson; her husband, Douglas R. Davidson and one grandson, Elliot Wilkins Davidson.
A memorial service will take place at 2 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 18 at the Lewis Funeral Home in Moorestown. Interment will be private.
