Surveillance camera registry active in Mantua

The following comes from the Mantua Township Police Department's Facebook page.

Crime Prevention is a cooperative effort involving the whole community, including the police, businesses and residents.

To that end, we are requesting residents, businesses and organizations that have exterior surveillance cameras on their property to let us know and send us your contact information in the event your surveillance footage may assist us with an investigation.

This registration does not give our department access to your camera system, but simply allows a database to be created in the event a crime occurs in that area.

The program is a great way to help deter and solve crime quickly in our community. It empowers us with the information needed to catch criminals faster. And since you own the camera, your participation always remains 100 percent voluntary.

We have had great success in the past from community members who have supported investigations by providing us with footage from their security systems.

If you are interested in participating or just have a few questions first, please contact us at [email protected] and we will get you set up.
