Voorhees Police Department announces burglary arrest

The Voorhees Township Police Department today announced the arrest of an individual following two reported burglaries Monday, June 24

The following is a combination of two releases from the Voorhees Township Police Department:

The Voorhees Police Department announced the arrest of an individual June 25 following two reported burglaries the day before. On June 24, at approximately 10:55 a.m., patrol units were dispatched for a burglary in progress on the unit block of Forrest Hills Drive.

The homeowners observed an unknown male exiting their garage, with the male subsequently fleeing the scene. A description was obtained and given to all responding units, which canvassed the area. A K-9 team was deployed and conducted a track, but due to the terrain, the track was terminated for the safety of officers and the K-9.

The Voorhees Criminal Investigations Bureau was able to develop a possible suspect with the assistance of the Waterford Police Township.

At approximately 3:56 p.m. the same day, a second call received by police dispatch described a found burglary on the unit block of Tenby Chase Drive. Patrol Units located the individual in the vicinity of Simsbury/Longwood.

At the time of his arrest, the individual had stolen items from the residential burglaries in his possession. He was charged with two counts of burglary, theft and criminal mischief and subsequently remanded to the Camden County Correctional Facility.

Residents are reminded to be vigilant and report all suspicious activity. For more information about this arrest, contact Captain Carmen Del Palazzo of the Voorhees Township Police Department.
