The Haddon Fortnightly to hold monthly gathering on Friday

Discussion about, display of therapy dogs planned.

The April meeting of The Haddon Fortnightly, a civic and social organization for women, will be held on Friday, April 26 at 1 p.m. The meeting will be held at The Haddon Fortnightly clubhouse, 301 Kings Highway East.

The program for the meeting will be a presentation by three volunteers from the Animal Welfare Association in Voorhees, accompanied by their trained therapy dogs. The volunteers will discuss the training that a therapy dog must complete and will demonstrate some of the types of work that their dogs perform. These therapy dogs are trained, among other things, to visit residents in retirement and nursing homes, to visit residences for people with intellectual disabilities and to work in classroom settings.

Visitors and prospective members are welcome to attend. After the business meeting and the speakers’ presentation, members and guests will have time to socialize and enjoy light refreshments.
