Samaritan Healthcare & Hospice’s annual “Celebration of Life Gala,” sponsored by Holman Enterprises, was held at the Crowne Plaza in Cherry Hill and raised more than $195,000 for the not-for-profit’s programs and services which benefit seriously ill patients and their families as well as those grieving a loss. Samaritan Healthcare & Hospice is a not-for-profit, non-sectarian, independent organization locally founded in Moorestown in 1980. Emceed by Jon Runyan, NFL vice president of policy and rules administration, the gala included dinner, live music, dancing, a silent auction and the drawing of two winning tickets of the Delightful Dining raffle.
Attended by more than 350 guests, the gala was supported by a volunteer committee, and was supported by many sponsors and advertisers.
This year’s gala theme “TEAM,” honored the diverse teams of people — medical hospice and palliative teams, as well as volunteers, donors, boards/committees and others — who work together each day to support Samaritan patients and their families. Samaritan recognized three local families — the Buehler family of Marlton, the Gladden family of Willingboro and the Mancine family of Cinnaminson — for their work and dedication to the organization throughout the years.
