East boys swimming celebrates 11th straight sectional title, hungry for more

On Thursday, Cherry Hill East boys swimming achieved something it has done every year in the 2010s. The Cougars defeated Egg Harbor Township, 110–60, to win the program’s 11th consecutive sectional title. Cherry Hill East’s swimmers talked about their achievement following the meet and also mentioned they’re aiming for something bigger. The Cougars are hoping to win a state championship after falling short last season.

‘Fiddler on the Roof’ returns for another run at Cherry Hill East

“Fiddler on the Roof” has taken the stage at Cherry Hill East before. In fact, director Tom Weaver said this year will be the fourth time he’s worked on the musical in his 42 years at Cherry Hill East. There’s a reason the theater department keeps going back to the musical, however. Members of the cast believe this year’s show and its themes will have a monumental impact on audiences.

Cherry Hill couple happy to head into retirement after serving region for four decades

For more than 40 years, Adler’s Fabrics was a staple of Philadelphia’s “Fabric Row” along South 4th Street in Philadelphia. Long-time Cherry Hill residents Jay and Jeannette Adler, the owners of the store, had a huge impact on the local region through their shop. In January, the Adlers opted to close their store as they decided to retire. They reflected on years of memories last week during an interview with The Sun.

BOE discusses having a presence at Cherry Hill fair funding meetings

Tuesday’s Cherry Hill Board of Education meeting featured discussions on a number of different topics. One of those discussions revolved around fair funding. Board president Eric Goodwin said he received a request for a board member to attend Fair Funding for Cherry Hill Public Schools’ regular meetings. The board discussed the value of getting more involved with the fair funding group.

Arroyo, Sernovitz honored with proclamations at Cherry Hill Township council meeting

Two residents were honored at Monday’s Cherry Hill Township Council meeting. Rabbi Larry Sernovitz and Rosy Arroyo both received proclamations from Mayor Chuck Cahn and council for receiving the 2019 Martin Luther King Jr. Freedom Medal from Camden County in January. On the business side, council also adopted an ordinance to add two members to the township’s recreation board.
