Det. Christopher DeFrancesco recently worked to identify robbers who assaulted a juvenile with a pellet gun, stealing his phone and cash.
The following information is on file with the Evesham Township Police Department:
The Evesham Township Police Department has named Det. Christopher DeFrancesco as the department’s “Officer of the Month” for the month of January 2019.
DeFrancesco has been a member of the Evesham Police Department for 13 years and is being commended for his investigative skills and commitment to making the township a safer place.
Throughout the month of January, police say DeFrancesco has been conducting an extensive investigation involving the robbery of a juvenile that occurred on Dec. 19.
According to police, the investigation determined that the incident began when a juvenile male was allegedly coaxed into meeting a female friend in the area of the King Grant Development to go for a walk.
During that walk, police say four unknown males wearing ski masks allegedly approached the male and shot him numerous times with a pellet gun.
Police say the males fled the area after stealing $250 cash and an iPhone from the victim.
The victim was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment after the incident.
According to police, DeFrancesco worked tirelessly to prepare and serve more than 25 search warrants in this investigation, which resulted in charges being generated for armed robbery against the juvenile female for her alleged part in arranging the robbery, and charges against three of the four masked individuals.
Police say DeFrancesco’s efforts deserve to be recognized as he continues to work toward identifying the final allegedly assailant and charging him accordingly.
