Letter to the Editor: Love is in the air

Washington Township resident George DeGeorge penned a letter about love

It’s February already and that flutter of wings in the air can only mean one thing. No, sadly it’s not the Eagles. Cupid’s coming and so are the cards, chocolates, roses and fun wear from Victoria’s Secret. Maybe you have your own special way of wooing the one you love.

Some couples play hooky from work and take a day trip to somewhere new and exciting. Some sweethearts indulge in a ridiculously expensive romantic candlelit dinner and forget about phones, calories and doggie bags. And some lovers ask Nana and Pop-Pop to watch the kids then share an intimate evening and morning, of course Nana and Pop-Pop might have a romantic evening of their own planned right after ‘Jeopardy!’

Luckily, even apparent fuddy-duddies can be Cupid’s targets. But if you think it’s just another day and no big deal and that you’re too busy to be bothered just take a moment and think of what your life would be like if the love of your life never fell in love with you.

George DeGeorge.
