The Mantua Township Police responded to calls for assistance, car crash, disputes and more.

The following is on file at the Mantua Township Police Department:

November 15th

  • Officers responded to a minor crash involving a private school bus in which it was sideswiped on Glassboro Road.
  • Officers responded to a minor crash in the parking lot of the Wawa Store on Lambs Road.
  • Units responded to an unconscious person that had been deceased for a few days.
  • Officers responded to a minor crash on Tylers Mill Road.
  • Officers assisted at least eight vehicles that had gotten stuck in the snow throughout the course of the day.
  • Units responded to Mt. Royal Road for a single vehicle that had run off the road and into a ditch. A tow truck was needed to pull it out.
  • Officers checked the area of Mantua Blvd and Route 45 for a report of a subject. throwing snowballs at vehicles as they passed. Officers were not able to locate the subject.
  • Officers responded to a fatal motor vehicle crash on Lambs Road at Spruce Street.

November 16th

  • Officers responded to a single vehicle crash on Cohawkin Road in which the vehicle ran off the roadway. A private tow removed the vehicle.
  • Officers responded to a two car crash at the intersection of Lambs Road and Tylers Mill Road where two vehicles needed to be towed.
  • Units responded to a minor crash in the parking lot of the Mantua Post Office.
  • Patrols responded to a crash at the intersection of Schaub Road and Jessup Mill Road.
  • Officers took a harassment complaint in which the caller stated their child is being bullied at school.

November 17th

  • Officer assisted Glassboro Police Department with a search of a subject that was under arrest.
  • Officers responded to a noise complaint at 2:30 a.m. for a group talking loudly outside.
  • Ptl. Sheilds and other officers responded to a crash in which a vehicle struck a tree. The driver was arrested for DUI and the vehicle was impounded.
  • Officers supervised community service workers who cleaned up litter on the road in the area of Route 45 and Berkley Road.
  • Officers responded to a two vehicle crash on Glassboro Road in the area of Tylers Mill Road.
  • Officers took a fraud complaint in which the victim needed to pay for services using Google Play cards for a loss of $1,500.
  • Officers responded to a domestic dispute between a couple in which one pushed the other away.
  • Units responded to a shoplifting that had occurred at the Home Depot store.

November 18th

  • Officers responded to a single vehicle crash on Mantua Boulevard in which a car struck a deer.
  • Officers supervised community service workers who cleaned up litter throughout the town.
  • Units checked on a neighbor that had not been seen in a few days and the mail was not being picked up. The homeowner is on vacation out of state.
  • Units responded to a family dispute between a mother and her son.
  • Officers assisted a motorist that had locked their keys in the vehicle at the Petsmart store.
  • Officers responded to a shoplifting at the Kohl’s store.
  • Units responded to a female in Wenonah that had threatened to harm herself. She was transported to the hospital for treatment.

November 19th

  • Officers checked the area of Wenonah Elementary school for a male that had been walking in the area of the school for about 20 minutes.
  • Officers qualified on the range in the use of their patrol rifles.
  • Officers continued their investigation of the fatal car crash from November 15th.
  • Officers took a criminal mischief complaint in which an unknown person put footprints in the victim’s vehicle.
  • Officers responded to a crash on Glassboro Road in the area of Tylers Mill Road.
  • Units responded to a minor crash on Glassboro Road in the area of Lambs Road
  • Units responded to a crash on Glassboro Road in front of the Sony building.
  • Units responded to an armed robbery at the Heritage store on Jackson Road. The suspect fled on foot towards Harrison Avenue.

November 20th

  • Units assisted Deptford Police Department with a motor vehicle crash on Route 45 near Ogden Road.
  • Units responded to a family dispute between parents and their adult son. The son was transported to the hospital for a crisis evaluation.
  • Officers responded to a crash on Glassboro Road in the area of Center Street.
  • Officers took a theft report where a bicycle was stolen from the Taco Bell.

November 21st

  • Units responded to a vehicle burglary in which the homeowner was chasing the suspect through the development. Officers took over the chase and caught him later as he was hiding in shrubbery. He was arrested and turned over to the county jail.
  • Officers took a theft and criminal mischief report as the caller’s neighbor was evicted while she was at work. During that time, a flower pot was damaged and a portable grill was stolen.
  • Officers took a criminal mischief report where the caller’s vehicle was keyed over night.
  • Units responded to a crash at the exit to the Kohl’s store.
  • Offices took a vehicle burglary report in which a vehicle was entered and cash and an iPod were stolen. It is believed the doors were left unlocked.
  • Officers took a fraud report in which his daughter’s Snapchat account was hacked and money was taken from the account.
  • Officers took a report for an assault in which it was reported one male assaulted another.

November 22nd

  • Patrols responded to a crash on Glassboro Road in Wenonah in which the vehicles needed to be towed from the scene.
  • Patrols responded to a minor crash in the parking lot of the Wawa store on Route 45.
  • Officers responded to a neighbor dispute in which one was calling the other foul names.
  • Officers took a criminal mischief report in which a fence was damaged.
  • Units responded to a crash on Mantua Boulevard in which a vehicle struck a pole.
  • Units responded to a crash on Route 45 by the jug handle in which the vehicles needed to be towed from the scene.

November 23rd

  • Officers responded to a tree across the roadway in Wenonah.
  • Units responded to a minor crash in the parking lot of the Target store.
  • Officers assisted in Wenonah for their annual Turkey Trot 5k with traffic control.
  • Patrols responded to a minor crash on Main Street near Center Street in which an oil delivery truck was struck by a passing vehicle.
  • Units responded to an elderly subject that had passed during the night.
  • Patrols took a criminal mischief complaint in which a vehicle had something put on it overnight.

November 24th

  • Ptl. Mroz and his K-9 partner, Zuke, assisted Deptford Police Department with a vehicle sniff in which there was a positive indication for drugs.
  • Officers took a forgery report in which the victims signature was used for a letter of reference.
  • Units responded to a domestic dispute in which the male would not let the female into the house.
  • Units conducted a property check on an unoccupied house as the neighbor saw a light on inside the house.
  • Units responded to a residence in which it was reported that there was underage drinking occurring.
  • Sgt. Herner saw a subject that had an active warrant for his arrest. The subject fled on foot and was caught by the Sgt. He was turned over to the Gloucester County Jail.
  • Ptl. Mroz conducted a car a stop and arrested an occupant for outstanding warrants.

November 25th

  • Officers supervised community service workers who were cleaning up trash along the roadway.
  • Officers responded to a neighbor dispute in which one was accused of speeding and almost hitting a bicyclist.
  • Units responded to a domestic dispute in which coffee was thrown on the victim.
  • Officers responded to a crash in Wenonah in which a vehicle struck a pole and overturned on Glassboro Road.
  • Officers responded to a neighbor dispute in the Pinebrook Apartments in which one was accused of throwing trash over the balcony.
  • Ptl. Oldrati conducted a motor vehicle stop and arrested an occupant for an outstanding warrant.

November 26th

  • Officers responded to a crash on New Street in which a vehicle was turning around and ran into a ditch.
  • A patrol car struck a deer on Center Street but did not cause any damage.
  • Officers responded to a crash involving a school bus and a passenger car with no reported injuries.
  • Units responded to a crash on Glassboro Road in the area of Lambs Road.
  • Units responded to a domestic dispute between a couple in which the male half-kicked the victims vehicle, causing a dent.
  • Officers took a theft report in which a paintball gun was stolen.
  • Officers are investigating a sexual assault of a minor in which a family member is the accused.
  • Patrols took a harassment complaint in which the caller is receiving text messages from her friend’s ex- girlfriend.

November 27th

  • Officers responded to a tree that fell across the roadway taking out power lines with it.
  • Units responded to a two vehicle crash in the parking lot of the Pitman Golf Course.
  • Officers assisted Harrison Police Department with the search of a missing person.
  • Units took a crash report where a township trash truck struck a parked car causing minor damage.
  • Patrols responded to a three car crash near the Telford Inn where two vehicles needed to be towed.
  • Units assisted a motorist that had locked their keys in their car at the Lowes store.

November 28th

  • Patrols responded to a one vehicle crash on Mantua Boulevard in which a pole was struck and fell onto the vehicle. There were no injuries and the scene was cleared 17 hours later.
  • Units responded to a crash in Wenonah in which a parked car was struck.
  • Units responded to a neighbor complaint in the Pinebrook Apartments in which one neighbor was name calling to another neighbor.
