Fire in Sicklerville leaves one dead

The Winslow Township Fire Department responded to a fire Saturday morning; cause of fire is now under investigation

The following is a press release from the Winslow Township Fire Department:

The Winslow Township Fire Department responded to a dwelling fire with reported people trapped inside on Saturday, Nov. 3 at approximately 8:35 a.m. This fire occurred in a residential complex of mobile homes in the Sicklerville section of Winslow Township.

Upon the initial crews arrival, firefighters were met with significant fire and smoke conditions along with potential structural stability issues of this single story dwelling. Upon entering, an unresponsive person was found in the rear bedroom and later pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim’s identity has not yet been released pending full notification of the family. The fire remains under investigation by the Winslow Township Fire Department’s Fire Marshal and is supported by the New Jersey Division of Fire and Safety, Winslow Township Police Department, the Camden County Fire Marshal and the Camden County Prosecutors Office.
