Spirit of the season alive and well at Greenfield Hall and beyond
The Historical Society of Haddonfield announced several Halloween-themed events on tap before the end of the month.
First on the docket are walking tours, scheduled for Oct. 19–20 and 26–27, all starting at 7 p.m. Author William Meehan, Jr. will regales walkers with ghost stories and legends from his popular paperback, “Haunted Haddonfield.” The tour begins each night at Greenfield Hall before winding past the cemetery and familiar homes along the way.
The tour lasts about 60 minutes and can be enjoyed by everyone: couples, groups and families. Cost is $5 for children and $10 for adults.
Tickets can be purchased at the door (cash only) or ahead of time at Greenfield Hall, the Haddonfield Public Library, or the Haddonfield Visitor Center. There are no rain dates, but tickets can be used on any of the tour dates. Please remember to wear comfortable walking shoes, bring a flashlight and wear somewhat reflective clothing as a safety precaution.
Then, on Halloween Eve, Oct. 30, don’t forget about the traditional borough Halloween parade set to kick off at 6:30 p.m.
Following the parade, Greenfield Hall will be transformed into a haunted mansion. The annual favorite’s admission is $3 for children and $5 for adults.
