Police in Mantua assisted neighboring police departments, answered calls for help and took part in community events for the week of Oct. 3.

October 3rd
• Officers took a missing persons report for a young teenager who did not come home overnight, but was quickly located at a friend’s house.
• Officers took a shoplifting complaint from the Lowes store that had occurred a few days prior.
• Patrols responded to a crash on Glassboro Road by Center Street where one vehicle needed to be towed.
• Officers responded to a stolen vehicle that was able to be tracked via an Apple device in Camden. Vehicle was located with its operator and brought to headquarters for interviews.
• Officers took a crash report in which a vehicle struck a deer on Main Street near Lambs Road
• Ptl. Mroz and his K-9 partner, Zuke, assisted Deptford Police Department with a track of a subject that was wanted for a robbery. The subject was located and arrested.
October 4th
• Officers responded to a residence where an elderly subject had passed during the night.
• Officers took a harassment complaint in which the victim was being threatened by their brother-in-law.
• Officers responded to Camden County Probation Department to take possession of a prisoner that had an active warrant out of our jurisdiction.
• Patrols responded to a single vehicle crash on Heritage Road in the area of Main Street.
• Officers conducted foot patrol in the early evening hours at Chestnut Branch Park.
• Patrols responded to a crash at the Wawa store on Center Street.
• Ptl. Mroz and his K-9 partner, Zuke, conducted a car stop and arrested an occupant for possession of drugs and multiple outstanding warrants. They were turned over to the Gloucester County Jail.
October 5th
• Ptl. Layton arrested a subject that he observed at the Wawa store for outstanding warrants.
• Ptl. Krieger arrested a subject that had an active warrant for his arrest. He was processed and turned over to the Gloucester County Jail.
• Ptl. Crispin conducted a car stop and arrested the occupant for outstanding warrants.
• Officers responded to a tree across Mantua Boulevard blocking the roadway and were able to move it out of the way.
• Officers took a harassment complaint that involved two parents with children at the elementary school.
• Officers responded to a neighbor complaint where the caller did not like where her neighbors had placed her trash cans.
• Officers located a sinkhole on Barnsboro Road in the area of Pitman Road. Gloucester County Highway Department responded to repair it.
• Patrols responded in Centre City for kids knocking on windows and doors and running away.
• Patrols responded to the Incarnation Church for a group of ladies yelling in the parking lot over the Bag Bingo that was taking place.
October 6th
• Officers responded to a two vehicle crash on Glassboro Road in the area of Center Street.
• Officers took a report for a fence that was damaged by a vehicle at J. Mason Tomlin school.
• Officers participated in the annual “Bark in the Park” event at Chestnut Branch Park.
• Officers received a report of a possible intoxicated male walking in their neighborhood, but officers could not locate him when we responded.
October 7th
• Ptl. Schnarr located a suspicious vehicle and during the course of the investigation, arrested an occupant for providing a false name to officers because he had outstanding warrants.
• Officers responded to a dispute over a worker that did not receive his paycheck.
• Patrols assisted a motorist that had locked their keys in their vehicle in their driveway.
• Officers assisted the Winslow Township Police Department who needed to make a notification in our town.
• Officers conducted foot patrol in the late afternoon hours at Chestnut Branch Park.
• Patrols responded to a hit and run crash that had occurred on Route 45 in the area of the Wawa store. There were no injuries reported.
• Patrols responded to a family dispute between separated parents and their children.
• Officers assisted Harrison Township Police Department with a large party at a residence in their locale.
October 8th
• Officers assisted a motorist that had locked their keys in their vehicle at the Chick-Fil-A.
• Patrols responded to a large tree across the roadway on Jefferson Road. The fire department and Gloucester County Highway Department both responded to assist in removing the tree.
• Ptl. Mroz and his K-9 partner, Zuke, assisted the Deptford Police Department with a sniff of a vehicle on a motor vehicle stop. There was a positive indication.
• Officers responded to a crash on Glassboro Road in the area of Center Street. One vehicle needed to be towed.
• Units assisted a motorist that had locked their keys in the vehicle at the Target store while parked in the fire lane.
• Ptl. Mroz and his K-9 partner assisted the Pitman Police Department with a vehicle sniff where there was a positive indication.
• Officers assisted the West Deptford Police Department with a domestic assault at their Wawa store.
• Patrols responded to the Walgreens Store for a shoplifting that had occurred and the subject fled prior to our arrival.
October 9th
• Patrols responded in the area of Gloucester County Christian School for a column of smoke coming from a nearby house. Fire department also responded and everything was fine.
• Officers responded to a two vehicle crash on Glassboro Road in the area of Mantua Boulevard.
• Units responded to a tractor and trailer that had struck a light standard in the area of Route 45 and Berkley Road and then left the area. State Department of Transportation responded to repair light.
• Officers responded to a crash on Tylers Mill Road in the area of Glassboro Road
• Officers took a fraud report where the victim had their personal information used to make a purchase in New York state.
• Units responded to a crash on Glassboro Road in the area of Center Street. One person was transported for neck pain.
• Officers responded in Wenonah for a domestic dispute where an ex was banging on the victim’s door. The subject was arrested for outstanding warrants.
