I have lived in New Jersey my entire life, having grown up on a farm in Mt. Laurel, and I think this area gets a bad rap.
Yes, our taxes and our population density are high.
On the other hand, we have access to great open spaces, including some of the best beaches in the world.
We’ve got excellent schools, both public and private, and many opportunities for our children to participate in individual and group sports, arts and academic activities. And, like many other places, the people here are great, as is continually demonstrated through everything from random acts of kindness to community level support.
All in all, this has been a great place to grow up, raise my kids and spend time with my grandkids.
I expect to live the rest of my life here, whether that’s one year or 40 (I’m 60 now).
