Taste of Mt. Laurel for 2018 set for Oct. 4

The free event offers a wide-array of local restaurants and food vendors to offer samples of their signature dishes.

For nearly a decade, Mt. Laurel Township has tried to hold its annual Taste of Mt. Laurel event each year to provide residents a free chance to treat their taste buds to some local cuisine.

Yet for three of the past five years, the event has been obstructed or outright canceled due to snow and ice in the late winter and early spring when the event is normally held.

Such was the case earlier this year, when the Taste of Mt. Laurel, originally scheduled for March 22 — the first day of spring — had to be canceled due to a surprise snowstorm.

With this year’s cancellation and the weather’s effect on past years’ events in mind, township officials moved the Taste of Mt. Laurel to October in an attempt to secure better weather.

Now on Oct. 4, the Taste of Mt. Laurel will be upon the township once again, with local restaurants and food vendors ready to offer samples of their signature dishes, as well as provide menus, give-a-ways and more.

Restaurants/vendors lined up for this year’s event include Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza, Asian Chef Fusion Cuisine, Aunt Selma’s Candy, B. Good, Brain Freeze Ice Cream Parlor, Carlucci’s Waterfront, Chick-fil-A, Crust N Fire, Marcello’s Ristorante & Pizzeria, McDonald’s, Miller’s Ale House, Monsoon Fine Indian Cuisine, On The Border, Panchero’s Mexican Grill, Panera Bread, Redz, Scotto Pizza, Smoothie King, Turning Point Of Moorestown, Victoria’s Bagel Bistro and Wendy’s.

In addition to providing Mt. Laurel residents with a fun community event, the Taste of Mt. Laurel also promotes local business by allowing the township’s new and longtime restaurants/food vendors to showcase their menus.

With free samples available, residents can learn what new establishments in the township have to offer, while also seeing any changes that have taken place with their old favorites.

The 2018 Taste of Mt. Laurel is scheduled for Oct. 4 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Hartford School, located at 397 Hartford Road.

The event is open to residents of all ages and is free to attend. No registration is required.

For more information about the event, visit the township’s website at www.mountlaurel.com.
