No longer hounded by health issues, Bert Fox returns to gold-medal form

In 2017, The Sun visited the Fox household to speak with Angel and Bert Fox. Angel donated a kidney to Bert after he required a transplant. Now, Bert Fox is rolling along and earning honors at the Transplant Games. In Utah at the 2018 games in August, Bert earned a gold medal in cornhole for the first time. Bert previously earned gold medals in swimming and volleyball.

Classroom re-opens at Cherry Hill East after being closed due to mold

A classroom in the B-wing at Cherry Hill High School East re-opened last Wednesday after being closed for the start of the school year when too many mold spores were detected in the area. Cherry Hill school officials announced the room had tested clean last Monday while the building was closed and re-opened to students and staff on Wednesday. Three times previously in the summer, the room closed after failing air tests from TTI Environmental Corporation.

From organizer to honoree: Donna Rose to receive Lifetime Achievement Award from Katz JCC

Donna Rose has been a part of the JCC Sports Award Dinner since the beginning, serving as the event’s operations chair each year. This year, Rose will again oversee the program, but she will also be involved in a different way. Rose is receiving the JCC’s Lifetime Achievement Award for her years of service to the Katz JCC in a variety of capacities.

Cherry Hill Council combining $40.8 million of notes into general obligation bond

Cherry Hill Township officials are hoping to save the municipality some money and take advantage of current interest rates through the consolidation of short-term notes into a general obligation bond. Cherry Hill Township Council passed a series of resolutions at its meeting last Tuesday to move forward with the consolidation of more than 30 general improvements and sewer utility bonds and notes.

Townships says proposed Fiscal Year 2019 municipal budget includes no tax increase for residents

Township officials state there will be no tax increase for residents in the proposed Fiscal Year 2019 municipal budget. The township advertised the proposed budget and the upcoming Sept. 21 public hearing in the “Courier-Post” last weekend. The proposed budget totals approximately $70.9 million, an increase of about $1.4 million from last year.
