The program has been certified by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation for the second straight year.
Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center’s cardiac rehabilitation program was recently certified by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation. The certification recognizes the program’s commitment to improving patients’ quality of life by enhancing its standards of care.
This is the second consecutive certification award for Lourdes’ program, which is based at LourdesCare at Cherry Hill, 1 Brace Road in Cherry Hill. Each certification is valid a three-year period.
According to the AACVPR, certified programs are recognized as leaders in the field of cardiac rehabilitation because they offer the most advanced practices available.
To receive certification, Lourdes’ program participated in an application process that required extensive documentation of the program’s practices. The AACVPR Certification Committee reviews each rehabilitation program and certification is awarded by the AACVPR Board of Directors.
Cardiac rehabilitation programs are designed to help people with cardiovascular problems such as heart attacks and coronary bypass surgery recover faster and improve quality of life. Lourdes’ program includes exercise, education, counseling, and support for patients and their families.
