Lou Naylor’s pollinator efforts are making a buzz in Moorestown
For the last nine years, Nayor has actively kept bees and currently maintains 39 colonies throughout Moorestown. Nearly a decade ago, a neighbor taught Naylor the ropes of beekeeping. She said the pair would go out and catch swarms, and before she moved from her home to a nearby condo, she maintained eight backyard hives. Naylor quickly immersed herself into the world of beekeeping. She attended classes, joined local beekeeping groups and today is the New Jersey director of the Eastern Apicultural Society. She said there’s more to beekeeping than just putting out boxes and collecting honey.
Making magic on the field
The Moorestown Magic proved themselves during their first season and emerged at the top of the powering rankings out of the 35 teams in New Jersey. Today, the 16U team is competing at an 18U level, and despite being a relatively new team compared to their other United States Specialty Sports Association competitors, the team is continuing to make a name for itself.
MoorArts and Parks & Rec. producing a show of many colors
“Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” premiered on Broadway 50 years ago, and on July 20, the show will make its Moorestown debut. At the hands of MoorArts and the Moorestown Department of Parks and Recreation, the Andrew Lloyd Webber classic will bring a show of many colors to the stage of Moorestown High School. The show marks the second year of a partnership between MoorArts and Parks and Rec. MoorArts produces one show a year, and last summer, the nonprofit partnered with Parks and Rec. for their first joint production.
