This month’s tip is contamination in recycling
Attached are helpful tips to end contamination. Do the right thing, use the right bin. Don’t let good recycling go to waste, when in doubt leave it out!

- Paper and cardboard: newspaper, magazines, tissue boxes, envelopes, computer paper, pasta boxes, corrugated cardboard, non-soiled pizza boxes, paper towel rolls and junk mail
- Aluminum and steel food cans: soft drink cans, food cans, beer/alcohol cans and cookie tins.
- Plastic bottles only: rinsed thoroughly, bottles #1 and #2 only (on bottom), water, soda, shampoo and laundry detergent bottles.
Not acceptable items are:
- Plastic bags, coffee cups, food scraps, diapers, wire/plastic hangers, styrofoam, light bulbs, juice boxes/pouches, yard debris, clothing, electronics, dishes, flower pots and batteries.
