Fireman says “major damage” at Mantua residence due to fire

Services arrived on the scene at approximately 11:30 a.m.

The Mantua Fire Department is investigating a fire that broke out at Shadow Place today at approximately 11:30 a.m.

No persons were injured in the fire; however, Daniel Hauss of the Mantua Township Fire District said two family pets were lost in the fire.

“There is major damage,” Hauss said, noting the whole front of the house was engulfed.

Departments who responded are Mantua, Pitman, Glassboro, Washington Township, Woodbury and Wenonah. Services were present at the scene for approximately 2.5 hours.
