Fonseca sponsors golf hole for Shriners

This marks Fonseca’s tenth year sponsoring a hole at the Burlington County Shrine Club.

June 4 marked the 10th Anniversary of Dr. Sara Fonseca, owner of Endo Excellence to sponsor a golf hole at the 32nd annual Burlington County Shrine Club held at Riverton Country Club. Fonseca is an endodontic specialist located in Moorestown. Her desire to give back to the community is paramount, and Fonseca finds the Shriners’ cause to be particularly special.

The Shriners are a Fraternal Organization of Master Masons whose purpose is fellowship. Crescent Shriners was founded in 1904 and is home to 1,350 Shriners from the Central and Southern New Jersey area. Their cause is the Shriners Hospital.

Shriners hospital for children is a destination health care provider with children in need of upper and lower extremity orthopedic care, spinal cord injury services, neuromuscular care, sports injuries and acute orthopedic care. Shriners treats children from 48 out of 50 states last year. Shriners hospital helps children in need of medical care, whether they can afford to pay or not.

Shriners treats children with spinal cord and nerve injuries that are usually neglected in the medical field. Shriners hospital even has their own brace shop to customize the needs of their patients and a rehabilitation center with high level focus rehabilitation programs and forefront technology. Their research center is currently researching ways to repair children with injured spinal cords, brain injuries and neurological birth defects.

The compassion Shriners Hospital displays to their patients and their families is a value Fonseca deeply honors. Fonseca is a mother of three children and has had all three children need orthopedic care as children. One of her children in particular, experienced a near death experience whose life was saved by an orthopedic surgeon.

Donating to Shriners for the past decade is simply a “thank you” from Fonseca. She knows this cause is saving children’s lives and helping disadvantaged children thrive.
