Curb My Clutter kicks off in Gloucester Township

With just a simple text, residents can have their unwanted items picked up by their doorstep.

Gloucester Township makes it easier for everyone to de-clutter their homes by introducing convenient curbside clothing and electronics recycling for all its residents. Gloucester Township is partnering with Curb My Clutter — a service that enables residents to easily schedule free collection of their unwanted items via text.

“Gloucester Township is committed to bringing services like Curb My Clutter to our residents to improve their lives while minimizing the environmental impact of our community and saving taxpayer dollars associated with waste disposal,” said Mayor David Mayer.

“We are excited to see Gloucester Township take a leadership role by giving its residents a simple way to recycle these materials that represent a $500 million cost to cities each year,” said Anderson of Curb My Clutter. “Curb My Clutter can help reduce taxpayer dollars spent sending clothing and electronics to landfill and preserve our natural resources.”

This service does not cost the township any money. It actually saves money by reducing the amount that Gloucester Township pays to dispose of this material.

To participate:

1. Text “pickup” to (856) 367–6130

2. Send pictures of items you’d like to recycle to earn rewards via the text conversation.

3. Schedule your pickup date.
