Cherry Hill East girls swimming to compete for state title

The Cougars defeated Morristown High School, 99–71, on Tuesday in the Public Group A state semifinals.

Cherry Hill East girls swimming will have a chance to win a state championship this weekend after the Cougars pulled out a 99–71 victory over the North Jersey Section 1 sectional champions, Morristown High School, on Tuesday.

The Cougars were led by Grace Yoon, who took first place in the 200 individual medley and 100 breaststroke. Cherry Hill East also won first place in the 200 medley relay and 400 freestyle relay. Other individual winners included Brianna DiSanti in the 100 freestyle, Karolyn Merch in the 100 butterfly and Annie Behm in the 100 backstroke.

Cherry Hill East will go for its first state championship since 1999 on Saturday. They will take on two-time defending Public Group A state champion Bridgewater-Raritan High School. The meet will take place at The College of New Jersey beginning at 9:30 a.m.
