Cherry Hill resident Kamna Arya describes how she met her husband while in graduate school.
Editor’s Note: The following Sweetheart Story was submitted to The Sun by Cherry Hill resident Kamna Arya.
I met my husband (Yogesh Prasad Balajee, a.k.a. Yogi) while going to school for our Master’s Degree. This was back in September 2011 , when I had arrived from India and the Indian Students Association assigned Yogi to pick me up at the airport on my arrival. That was the first time we met and I actually got picked there(I like to think that!) I wouldn’t call it love at first sight, it took a few sights. And so we started dating later in 2011, without telling any of our friends! We got married in November 2014 and love every bit of the beautiful married life!
Our first date was a secret from the world, and it was at Max Brenner in Philadelphia, and I paid for it!
The most romantic thing we have done so far is travel the world. We have been to six continents together and waiting to go on the seventh! We both are really passionate about traveling and keep exploring.
We both happen to have a good sense of humor though my husband thinks his is better than mine!
We give each other space and at the same time, enjoy a lot of activities together, like cooking, working out, etc.
Our advice is to take things slow, and accept the differences! Patience and cooperation go a long way in making a relationship work! It’s not always roses, but it’s not always thorns either! Learn to grow together and with each other.
And a special advice for the guys out there: She’s always right.
