Burlington Township residents will have the opportunity to vote Feb. 17 on the proposed 2018 budget and Board of Fire Commissioners for Burlington Township Fire District №1.
The proposed budget would increase the current $0.85 tax rate by 1 percent, reflecting normal annual fluctuation. The overall amount to be raised by taxation would total $1,996,000. For the average Burlington Township home valued at $234,510, taxes per household will increase to $23.45 a year.
Three commissioner candidates are also running for two full three-year terms and one unexpired seat. Unopposed incumbents Terry Field and Darren Thompson are up for the full terms, and Brian Massimi, also an unopposed incumbent, is up for the unexpired term.
Voting will be open Saturday, Feb. 17 from 2–9 p.m. at the fire district headquarters, 1601 Burlington Bypass.
