Hurffville fourth-graders exceed one million words read in Read 180 program

The students now have their sights set on 2,000,000 words

The Hurffville Elementary School fourth-grade students in Christi Seiler’s class hold their million-plus words banner.

Fourth-grade students in the Read 180 program at Hurffville Elementary School recently exceeded an ambitious goal before the end of the second marking period. The students had been working hard to pass the 1,000,000 words read goal, and they were excited to achieve that mark before the official mid-year point! They now have their sights set on 2,000,000.

Read 180 is a multimedia program that is designed to meet the specific needs of students to improve reading levels. The program blends instruction from the teacher with innovative computer software that tracks a child’s progress and customizes instruction to meet their needs.
