Students and staff from the Washington Township middle schools and high school gathered in the Investors Bank Performing Arts Center on Thursday afternoon, Jan. 18, for a lively Wing-Eating Competition assembly to kick-off the Super Bowl Hoagie Sale on Feb. 4. In its 23rd year, the annual Helping Hands Super Bowl Hoagie Sale will be underway on Sunday, Feb. 4, benefiting local families and residents in need. Also, the Washington Township Rotary Club begins to plan 50th anniversary gala, celebrating decades of service to the community. Buy a hoagie, be aĀ hero

This year is the 23rd anniversary of the Helping Hands Super Bowl Hoagie Sale, one of Washington Townshipā€™s largest annual community service events, scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 4. Organized by the COW Project, Washington Township High School Students in Action and members of the six elementary and three middle school Future Acts Clubs, along with student-athletes and community volunteers, the event provides financial support for local families and residents inĀ need.

Washington Township Rotary Club commemorates 50 years ofĀ service

With a long tradition of serving the local community and beyond, the Washington Township Rotary Club is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, bringing together past, present, old and new members to commemorate the ever-evolving organization that values the motto ā€œservice above self.ā€ In addition to the annual Wine, Beer and Spirits Tasting, scheduled for March 9 at Wedgwood Country Club and the Paul Davidson Memorial Rotary Golf Outing in September, this year the club will also be hosting a 50th anniversary gala celebration in theĀ fall.

Washington Township police collect donations for needy in ā€˜Underwear Paloozaā€™Ā drive

The Washington Township Police Department and local PBA will be collecting donations for the homeless, needy and less fortunate in partnership with The Unforgotten Havenā€™s Underwear Palooza Drive. Winter hats, winter gloves and undergarments for men, women, boys and girls of all sizes and types will be accepted to assist the Blackwood non-profit organization, whose mission is to help the less fortunate.
