The training on Jan. 24 is open to all members of the clergy, including ushers
The Washington Township Police Department will host a free training night for local clergy, administrators and board members on Active Shooter Response and Church Security at 6 p.m. on Jan. 24. Attendees will gain some knowledge and have questions answered to help them become better prepared. All members of the clergy are invited, especially those who participate as ushers.
In the wake of the mass shooting in Texas, area churches are asking how to increase their safety measures. The tragic incident serves as a reminder of why being prepared is so important in order to keep church members safe. Congregations and places of worship need to become more aware of the threats that are out there and minimize the risk.
Any church representatives interested in attending should contact Ofc. Joe Rowson at [email protected] or contact the Chiefs Office at 856–589–6664. The location of the training will be provided upon registration.
