Burlington County Library to present new YA program in January

Join BCL on Jan. 13 to meet your favorite authors and attend panel dicussions

The Burlington County Library will kick off 2018 by presenting an exciting new program, “YA Authorfest,” featuring appearances by 19 young adult and middle grade authors who will discuss their work and offer books signings to the public.

Sponsored by The Friends of the Library, Inc., YA Authorfest is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 13 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the library in Westampton and admission is free. Readers of all ages, particularly teen fans and aspiring writers, are encouraged to attend.

In addition to meet-and-greet opportunities with the list of acclaimed authors, fans will be invited to purchase copies of their books, which will be made available that day through the support of The Friends. (Cash and check purchases only, please.)

Two Authorfest panel discussions are also planned:

· “The Ins and Outs of Getting Published,” which will run from 10:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m., will feature insider tips for getting your work published and a question-and-answer session. Panelists will include:

o Megan Atwood, author of the young adult novel “The Devils You Know.” www.mc-atwood.com

o Julie Eshbaugh, author of young adult novels “Ivory and Bone,” and “Obsidian and Stars.” www.julieeshbaugh.com

o Jeffry Johnston, author of the young adult novels “Fragments,” and “The Truth.” www.jeffrywjohnston.com

· “Diversity in YA Lit,” which will run from 12:45 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., will feature authors who have personal and professional experience writing about people of color, members of the LGBTQ community, and other marginalized groups. The panelists will include:
