Police: Pedestrian struck and killed by vehicle on Route 38 Thursday morning

Police say the pedestrian was crossing an interaction against a red signal and was struck by multiple vehicles.

Cherry Hill Police are investigating a fatal pedestrian accident, which occurred on Thursday, Nov. 30, at approximately 6:20 a.m.

The pedestrian exited a New Jersey Transit bus at the Route 38 eastbound & Longwood Avenue bus stop and ran across Route 38 towards the Burger King restaurant. The pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in the westbound lane of Route 38. The male landed in the eastbound lane and was struck by two additional vehicles.

All three of the involved drivers remained at the scene and were cooperative with police. Preliminary investigation revealed that Route 38 traffic had a green signal and that the pedestrian crossed against a red signal. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification to the next of kin.
