Polls will be open across Gloucester Township on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 7 from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Gloucester Township residents will not only vote for a new governor next week but also a mayor, three council members, three local board of education members and three regional board of education members.
Two candidates are running for mayor. Frank J. Radisch III (R) is running against incumbent David. R. Mayer (D).
Three four-year term council seats are up for election. Republicans Peter D. Heinbaugh, Jennifer O’Donnell and Rhonda D. Montana are running, as are incumbent Democrats Michelle l. Winters and Dan Hutchison and newcomer Scott D. Owens.
Three positions are open for the regional board of education. The three candidates running are Joyce W. Ellis, Kevin J. Bucceroni, Sr. and Jill Dawson. Three positions are also open for the local board of education. The five candidates vying for the spots are incumbents Mark Gallo, Mary Jo Dintino and MaryAnn Johnson. The other candidates are Joshua A. Davison and Councilman Franklin T. Schmidt.
Along with local elections, residents will cast their votes for governor, one state Senate member, two General Assembly positions and two Camden County freeholders.
There are also two statewide referendums on the ballot this year. The first is, “Do you approve the ‘New Jersey Library Construction Bond Act?’ This bond act authorizes the state to issue bonds in the aggregate principal amount of $125 million. The proceeds of the bonds will be used to provide grants to public libraries. The grants will be used to build, equip, and expand public libraries to increase capacity and serve the public.”
The second is, “Do you approve amending the Constitution to dedicate all moneys collected by the state relating to natural resource damages in cases of contamination of the environment? The moneys would have to be used to repair, restore, replace, or preserve the state’s natural resources. The moneys may also be used to pay legal or other costs incurred by the State in pursuing its claims.”
