Polls will be open across Berlin Borough on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 7 from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Berlin Borough residents will not only vote for a new governor next week but also two council members, three local board of education members and one regional board of education member.
Four candidates are running for two three-year term council seats. Joseph A. Adolph (R) and Nick D. Maccaroni (R) will be running against incumbents Len Badolato and Rick Miller of the Berlin First Party.
In the Berlin Borough Board of Education election, four candidates are vying for three seats. The candidates include Jocelyn Lewis, Francis J. Ballack, Francine M. Viscome and Lisa Asare. In the Eastern Camden County Regional School District Board of Education election, only one seat is up. Incumbent Gail David is the only candidate.
Along with local elections, residents will cast their votes for governor, one state Senate member, two General Assembly positions and two Camden County freeholders.
There are also two statewide referendums on the ballot. The first is, “Do you approve the ‘New Jersey Library Construction Bond Act?’ This bond act authorizes the state to issue bonds in the aggregate principal amount of $125 million. The proceeds of the bonds will be used to provide grants to public libraries. The grants will be used to build, equip, and expand public libraries to increase capacity and serve the public.”
The second is, “Do you approve amending the Constitution to dedicate all moneys collected by the state relating to natural resource damages in cases of contamination of the environment? The moneys would have to be used to repair, restore, replace, or preserve the state’s natural resources. The moneys may also be used to pay legal or other costs incurred by the State in pursuing its claims.”
