Earley passed away on Oct. 17 at the age of 86.
Dolores Daisy Earley (nee Adams), of Cherry Hill, born in Bareville, Pa., on Jan. 22, 1931, slipped into God’s arms on Oct. 17. She was 86.
Dolores was the dedicated wife of Walter Earley for 65 years; loving mother to Scott Earley (Lynn Thomas), Markus Earley (Susan), Diane Doak (Thomas), the late Glenn Earley, Ph. D. and their infant daughter, Janet Susan; and treasured mother-in-law of Wendy L. Earley (Glenn’s widow). Dolores was cherished by their seven grandchildren: Andrew Earley, Shauna Gantt (nee Earley), Keenan Earley, Isaac Earley, Hana Earley (Tom Marchand), Claire Doak (Brian Tang) and Erik Earley. Daughter of Esther Adams and James Pickell, she was the only niece of her dearest Aunt Violet Nagle (nee Adams).
Dolores saw Walt while both working in Lancaster, where she “knew he was the one” within days of that momentous meeting. Within a year they married only one week after his graduation from Drexel Institute of Technology. During over 65 years together, they lived in Jackson Heights (Queens), Seattle and Audubon. Finally laying down roots in Haddonfield, even when Walt’s career path uprooted their family to Puerto Rico for five years, which she loved as much as life itself.
Always a consummate homemaker, while still dedicating her devoted Christian faith as a member of the Haddonfield Methodist Church for 54 years. While there, Dolores inspired everyone with a persistent smile, which rarely stopped shining throughout many activities: teaching Sunday School, tutoring school children from Camden, studying God’s word in numerous groups, scouting and her most cherished United Methodist Women’s group until the final moments of spreading God’s joy.
Dolores’s family will receive friends on Monday, Oct. 23, from 9:30–10:45 a.m., in the Sanctuary of the Haddonfield United Methodist Church, 29 Warwick Rd., Haddonfield, NJ 08033; where her Memorial Service will follow at 11 a.m. Interment, private. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to HUMC for the Dolores Earley Memorial Fund.
Arrangements by Kain-Murphy Funeral Services of Haddonfield.
