Obituary: Richard Joseph Scesa

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his visitation, Thursday, Oct. 12 from 6:30 to 9 p.m.

On Saturday, Oct. 7, Richard Joseph Scesa, age 76, of Haddon Township, passed away surrounded by his loving family after being diagnosed with ALS this past March.

He was the beloved husband of Patricia (Nee Dergosits) of Haddon Twp; loving father of Ann Marie Saito (Ghen) of Mendham, Robert Scesa (Joanne) of Oceanport, NJ, Jennifer Duckles (Ben) of Haddonfield, Kevin Scesa (Lauren) of Philadelphia, the late Thomas, and his daughter-in-law Michelle of Hershey, Pa. Richard was the proud grandfather of Michael and his fiancé, Kristina, Bryce, Connor, Riki, Shannon, Ty, Emi, Ela, Jack and the newest addition Hannah. He was also survived by his beloved support dog, Casey.

His contagious laugh and benevolent heart will be the legacy his family carries on forever. Family gatherings were a special joy to him. The light Rich carried within his heart will never go out of our lives.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing, Thursday, Oct. 12 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at Jackson Funeral Home, 308 Haddon Ave., Haddon Township, and Friday, Oct. 13 from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. at Saint Teresa of Calcutta Parish Holy Saviour Church, 50 Emerald Ave., Westmont. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m.. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to ALS Association — Greater Phila.
