Burlington County Library set to present ‘Community Stories’ program on Oct. 19

Author Venard D. Cabbler Sr. will share his life story, message and poetry with the community.

Author Venard D. Cabbler Sr. will share his life story, message and poetry with the community on Oct. 19 at 6:30 p.m. in the Burlington County Library Auditorium in Westampton.

Moved to write poetry following his mother’s death from lung cancer, Cabbler is the author of “Messages from a Messenger: Transforming Poetic Principles into Reality,” a collection of inspirational and motivational prose.

His presentation is part of the library’s “Community Stories” program, a series of personal tales and life journeys from residents of Burlington County.

Refusing to let his environment or circumstances dictate his destiny, Cabbler’s journey has taken him from the inner city streets of West Philadelphia to the hallways of the nation’s capital. Last year, he partnered with the American Lung Association and traveled to Washington, D.C. as a representative of New Jersey to advocate for affordable healthcare for those with serious illnesses such as lung cancer.

A Westampton resident who works at Lockheed Martin, he believes “each of us are called to serve in one way or another and when you’re a part of something bigger than yourself, our experiences will be used as stepping stones to prepare us for what’s next.”

The library invites locals to be inspired and motivated by Cabbler’s message: “You can’t successfully keep moving forward if you’re constantly looking back.”

The author’s book also will be for sale at the event. Registration is requested.

The Burlington County Library is located at 5 Pioneer Boulevard, off Woodlane, Road in Westampton.
