High school sports roundup: Cherry Hill East boys soccer comes from behind for win

In other games, Cherry Hill East girls soccer and field hockey each snagged their first wins of 2017.

A strong second half propelled Cherry Hill East boys soccer to its second consecutive win as the Cougars took down Paul VI High School, 5–2, on Monday.

After falling behind 2–0, the Cougars scored five unanswered goals. Eddie Grant led the way with two goals and one assist. Mark Baseshore tallied one goal and one assist. Kevin Lochbihler and Jacob Fowler also scored in the game.

Boys soccer’s next game is next Tuesday, Sept. 26, at 3:45 p.m. at Winslow Twp.

Field hockey defeats Paul VI for first win

Cherry Hill East field won its first game of 2017 yesterday as the Cougars defeated Paul VI, 5–1.

Carli Ciocco had a huge game for Cherry Hill East, scoring three goals and assisting on the team’s other two scores. Haley Lopez also scored twice for Cherry Hill East.

The field hockey team will visit Winslow Twp. in its next game on Tuesday, Sept. 26, at 3:45 p.m.

Girls soccer edges Paul VI on the road

Cherry Hill East girls soccer snapped a four-game losing streak yesterday with a 2–1 road victory over Paul VI. It was the Cougars first win of the season.

Sydney Cicha and Lily Stanwyck were the goal scorers for Cherry Hill East. Sam Bourne played well in net for the Cougars, making 10 saves.

Girls soccer is back at home next Tuesday against Winslow Twp. The game will be at Richterman field at 3:45 p.m.
