Burlington County Freeholder Director Bruce Garganio announced today that the Freeholder’s next paper shredding event will be held on Sunday, September 10 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. rain or shine at the Burlington County Resource Recovery Complex located at 22000 Burlington-Columbus Rd, Florence, NJ.
“We are happy to continue to offer these events which help residents reduce the risk of identity theft and continue to expand recycling, and hope that everyone takes advantage of this wonderful service,” said Freeholder Director Garganio. “Last year saw much success, with 4,828 residents utilizing our services to recycle an impressive 184,000 pounds of confidential documents.”
Residents are urged to bring only “confidential” documents for shredding, such as bank and credit card statements, tax returns, papers with account numbers or social security numbers. They will be shredded on-site. Please, no binders, plastic folders, computer disks or plastic credit cards. Up to four bags or boxes per car will be accepted. Already-shredded paper can also be recycled at this event.
“With volunteers on hand to unload your confidential files, you do not even need to get out of your vehicle,” added Garganio.
Dates and locations for additional shredding events will be announced in the coming weeks.
“Residents are reminded that they can download “Recycle Coach,” an innovative mobile app designed to make recycling even easier. The app allows users to set personal recycling reminders, confirm whether or not an item can be recycled, or report any problems,” concluded Garganio. “Shred event reminders are also included on the free and easy to use app. To download, go to the iTunes or GooglePlay app store, or if you do not have a smartphone enjoy the desktop friendly version at this link: http://www.co.burlington.nj.us/1602/Recycle-Coach.”
This FREE event is for Burlington County residents only. ID is required. No businesses, please. For more information call (609) 499–1001 weekdays or email [email protected].
