Otter Dan keeps Old Orchard Swim Club going strong as pool manager
For the last 17 years, Dan Brofft, a.k.a. Otter Dan, has kept Old Orchard Swim Club in outstanding condition as its pool manager. Now, Brofft is entering his final weeks on the job as he prepares to retire from his position at the end of the 2017 season. Brofft has been a part of Old Orchard Swim Club for more than 40 years after first learning to swim at the club in 1975 at the age of 6.

In less than three years, the Ovadia family of Cherry Hill has traveled more than 40,000 miles over the course of 72 days, visiting every state in the U.S. except for Hawaii. The Ovadias have mastered the art of road tripping and have found a way to enjoy valuable family time together on the road. Now, the family wants others to experience the same great road tripping memories they’ve experienced over the past three years.

Five years ago, Steven Mitropoulos was just being introduced to the sport of bodybuilding. Today, Mitropoulos is one of the top up-and-coming athletes in the country. On July 22, Mitropoulos won the 2017 National Physique Committee Collegiate Nationals Bodybuilding overall championship in Pittsburgh. Mitropoulos said his hard work and great support system helped push him to the title.
Cherry Hill BOE receives update on referendum plans, ongoing summer projects
The Cherry Hill Board of Education received a number of updates during its work session meeting last Tuesday. The board was updated on the strategic planning committee’s work on Cherry Hill Public Schools 2020 and next year’s planned referendum. The board also received a small update on a number of summer construction projects taking place around the district.
Cherry Hill Police searching for Jared Jewelers robbery suspect
Cherry Hill Police are on the lookout for a jewel thief who robbed the Jared Jewelers store at Garden State Park in Cherry Hill last Monday. Cherry Hill Police say the man entered the store at about 4:10 p.m. and exited 25 minutes later with an undisclosed amount of solitary jewels. The man escaped in a grey, four-door SUV and drove down Haddonfield Road toward Brio Tuscan Grille.
