Musician Evan Fleming continuing to fight towards his dream
Most college students in today’s world may have to give up their dream job to pursue a career they aren’t that interested in. They may have to give up music, sports or theater to prepare for the rest of their lives. As 21-year-old Cinnaminson native Evan Fleming continues to go through his college career, the musician and songwriter has chosen his passion as his major. The rising senior at Montclair State University is studying for a bachelor’s degree in music production, and has been able to get his feet wet since a young age. “Music has always been around in my house,” Fleming said. “My dad plays guitar and has played concerts, my mom sings pretty well, and my brother is a graduate assistant at Penn State University also studying music.”
Cinnaminson Field Hockey Girls win 2017 Beach Blast
For a group of Cinnaminson High School field hockey players, years of practice finally paid off as they lifted the 2017 Beach Blast Tiki Trophy after winning the competition. The team, which consisted of 10 Cinnaminson students, pulled off a 4–1 record this summer, while scoring 24 goals and conceding only two. “Most of these girls have been playing together since third grade,” Maryanne Adams, the mother of player Brooke Adams, said. “They’ve been in the 16U division since they were 12, and now as 15-year-olds, they have finally won it all.”
Cinnaminson Board of Education candidacy announced
There is a tight ballot for the Cinnaminson Board of Education as four candidates have filed to run for three seats, according to the unofficial list from the Burlington County clerk’s office. Two incumbents and two challengers are running for election to the board this November. Daniel Gaffney and Dennis Hassis will run for re-election for their respective seats. The two challengers are Ed Kenney and Kathleen Quinn. The Cinnaminson Board of Education election will take place on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 8.
Boating Certification Courses available at Cinnaminson Public Library
These Boating Certification classes will take place starting at 4 p.m. on both August 17 and August 24. Adults, seniors, and teenagers are all welcome to register.
The Burlington County Library System is teaming up with the United States Coast Guard Auxillary to offer boating safety courses. All boaters and personal watercraft operators are required to have a NJ State Police issued boating safety certificate on board while underway on NJ waterways.
