Join the Nature Cove on July 15 for a search of resident and migrant birds!
Are you an outdoors person? Do you enjoy nature and want to be closer to it? Then join the Palmyra Cove Nature Park on July 15 from 9 a.m. to noon for “Beginning Birding for Adults”.
On the third Saturday of every month, adults can join the Naturalist and other adults interested in birding for a hike around the park in search of residents and migrants, including some rare species.
In the spring, the focus will be on migrants stopping by to feed and rest on their way to their northern nesting grounds. In the summer, the concentration is on finding resident nesting birds under a full tree canopy.
The fall is the time to find south-bound migrants on their way to their wintering grounds, and the best time to see the most species around Palmyra Cove. In the Winter, our focus changes to winter residents, waterfowl, and owls.
Cost is $10 per person, and free if you are a member of the Nature Cove.
Interested parties are invited to bring whatever they feel comfortable hiking with, including binoculars, field guides, notebook, snacks and water.
The Nature Cove accepts cash or check only. Registration is encouraged. To register please contact Kristina Merola at (856)829–1900 x1267. For more information regarding Palmyra Cove Nature Park, check http://www.palmyracove.org/Home.aspx.
