Cats over six years old are free all month
Adopt a cat at the Gloucester County Animal Shelter during National Adopt A Shelter Cat Month and fees will be waived for cats six years or older. Get pre-approved for your pet adoption and visit the GCAS or the PetSmart in Mantua or Washington Township during the month of June.
“The shelter is filled with cats of all ages during the summer and we encourage all residents to think of our shelter first when deciding to adopt their forever friend,” Freeholder Director Robert M. Damminger said.
“The shelter is offering several promotions during National Adopt A Shelter Cat Month,” said Freeholder Dan Christy, liaison to GCAS. “During the month of June, adoption fees are waived for those cats over the age of six and reduced to $35 for those cats under six years old. Our shelter staff is extremely helpful and will assist you in finding the right animal for your home.”
In addition to the June specials, the GCAS offers buy one shelter cat, get the second one free, and veterans and senior citizens enjoy a $35 adoption fee throughout the year.
As of today, the shelter has over 60 cats available for adoption. The cats can be visited at the shelter or the two PetSmart locations in Mantua and Washington Township.
Adoption hours at the shelter are Mondays and Fridays from noon to 4 p.m. and Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday noon to 7 p.m. Saturdays are open from noon to 4 p.m. for looking at the animals available for adoptions. PetSmart’s adoption hours are from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Friday, and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday and Sunday.
