Recent inspection revealed deterioration to bridge
The Freeholder Board’s Department of Public Works will restrict access to the sidewalk on the Clementon-Berlin Road Bridge over the North Branch of the Big Timber Creek in the Borough of Clementon in advance of repairs to the bridge.
A recent structural inspection revealed deterioration of a portion of the bridge that extends behind the curb and serves as a sidewalk on the southern side of the bridge. The design to replace the entire bridge has been completed and Camden County will advertise the bridge replacement project next month.
“Improving our roadway infrastructure while increasing highway safety is one of the best investments we can make in our county,” said Freeholder Susan Shin Angulo, liaison to the Department of Public Works. “Each year the Freeholder Board identifies roadways and bridges that are in need of improvement across our region.”
The Camden County Department of Public Works is responsible for maintaining 1,400 lane miles of county roadway and 50 bridges. To report concerns on Camden County roadways, call (856) 566–2980 or visit www.camdencounty.com.
