Keep Your Children Safe At GT Day With Special Event Child Registration

GT Day is Saturday, JuneĀ 3

Each year the residents of Gloucester Township come together to celebrate Gloucester Township Day on the first Saturday in June. Large crowd events can sometimes be a stressful time for parents as they must and should constantly be mindful of their children. The greatest fear as a parent is to become separated from your child in a crowd. The Gloucester Township Police Department is attempting to ease the fear of parents by instituting a Special Event Child Registration System.

The program is free and takes only minutes to sign up. While at Gloucester Township Day, parents simply fill a registration form and receive two matching bracelets, one for the parent and one for the child. In the event a lost child is located during the event, the parentā€™s information and cell phone number can be accessed quickly from the bracelet ID number. Parents can respond to the Gloucester Township Police Command Center to be reunited with their child. When you are finished for the day, simply remove and dispose of the braceletā€Šā€”ā€ŠNo checkout with police isĀ needed.

Quick reporting is essential in locating the child and reuniting them with their parent as quickly as possible. It is also recommended that parents take a picture of the child with their cell phone when they arrive so that they have an accurate description of what their child is wearing. Each year thousands of children visit Gloucester Township Day with their families and never become separated; however, also each year at least one child separates from their parent which causes a few moments of angst for a worrisome parent. The new Event Child Registration System can help reunite lost parents or children even moreĀ quickly.

Additionally, those attending Gloucester Township Day can sign up for a special event alert. This event-specific alert allows parents to receive important event information such as a lost child alert. To sign up for the special event, alert text the key word ā€œGTDAY2017ā€ to 888777. A prompt will come to enter the password ā€œBesafe17ā€ to activate the alerts. The password is case sensitive. The sign up is free but text message charges mayĀ apply.
