According to county officials, once again the Earth Fair seeks to educate and entertain environmental displays and activities for kids and adults.
Burlington County Freeholder Director Bruce Garganio has announced that Burlington County’s Earth Fair event returns to Historic Smithville Park on Sunday, June 4.
Located at 803 Smithville Road in Eastampton, the 24th annual event features “green” vendors, environmental displays and eco-friendly entertainment from 10:30 a.m. through 4 p.m.
This event is rain or shine and free to the public.
“This wonderful event allows residents of all ages to enjoy historic Smithville Park while engaging in environmentally friendly activities. If you are looking for ways to protect and appreciate the environment, and have some fun along the way, Earth Fair is for you,” Garganio said.
According to county officials, once again the Earth Fair seeks to educate and entertain with “green” vendors, environmental displays and activities for kids and adults. Visitors can look for familiar faces, such as Mike McGrath, host of the Public Radio Show, You Bet Your Garden.
Also returning is Mike Haberland with his Rain Barrel Workshop, where visitors can make their own rain barrel from repurposed barrels. There is a $45 fee for the workshop and supplies; advanced registration is required. Email [email protected] or call (856) 216–7130, ext. 3 to register.
The Friends of the Mansion at Smithville will also offer Mansion tours for a fee of $4 per person. Proceeds help fund programs and improve the historic Mansion and grounds.
This year’s event also includes live animal exhibits and presentations, a variety of bugs, reptiles, amphibians, ocean oddballs and 4-H animals, presentations from Woodford Cedar Run Wildlife Refuge and the Rancocas Nature Center, a sustainable living tent, the Nature Jeopardy! trivia game and the Philadelphia School of Circus Arts featuring Wire Walkers.
Also on the Rancocas Creek, folks can rent a canoe for a nominal rental fee of $15 per canoe.
The Kids Synergy Zone will also include inflatables such as rock wall climbing, slides, an obstacles course and a musical playground of repurposed items. Children can also enjoy face painting, science storytelling,
For runners, REI is sponsoring a 5K Run. The run starts at 7 a.m. and will finish in time for runners to partake in the festivities at Earth Fair. For details contact REI at (856) 810–1938, or visit the REI website at www.rei.com

Access to Smith Woods is limited to Route 38. To reach the main Earth Fair activities after shredding, simply follow the detour signs.
