Sheriff Stanfield Announces 2017 Senior Expo

The Expo will be held at the Masonic Village at Burlington from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tours of the Masonic Village will be held at 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Sheriff Jean Stanfield announced today that the Burlington County Sheriff’s Department, in collaboration with the Board of Chosen Freeholders, will be hosting the Annual Senior Citizen Expo on Wednesday, May 24.

“This event brings together more than four dozen agencies and organizations whose representatives can field and answer questions on every topic from social security and taxes to health care and recreational opportunities for seniors,” said Sheriff Jean Stanfield.

The Expo will be held at the Masonic Village at Burlington, Fellowship Center, 1114 Oxmead Road, Burlington Township from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tours of the Masonic Village will be held at 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.

“Many times seniors are unaware of the many helpful programs and services available to them. Our Annual Senior Citizen Expo has grown each year and brings many of those services together in one convenient location,” added Freeholder Linda Hughes. “Seniors can look forward to participating in raffles to win door prizes, receive free medical screenings, and familiarize themselves with the services available to them through the County’s Office on Aging.”

A document shredding truck, a free lunch and free tote bags to the first 500 attendees, will also be offered.

Those seeking more information can contact the Sheriff’s Department at (609) 265–3788.
